We have been enjoying Maths Trails during Maths Week! We were counting in the courtyard, calculating in the classroom and computing in the car park! Bhain na paisti taitneamh as an sceal Cochaillin Dearg. Is brea leo an sceal a leamh le ceile agus na pictiuir agus na haibairti a cur in ord. Dathaigh na paisti na pictiuir ar an taispeantais freisin. We have started learning how to use SCRATCH computer programming in school. The children will be learning new skills each week. So far they can change, add and delete sprites, change the sprite costume, add a background and give motion commands. If you would like your child to practise their skills at home you can download SCRATCH for free. Here are the instructions. 1. Type 'Dowload Scratch 2.0' into Google. 2. Select the option 'Scratch 2 offline editor MIT' 3. This will open a webpage page with installation instructions. Follow the instructions appropriate to your PC or Mac. 4. If you have any questions please let me know! The children have been identifying signs of autumn. We were on an autumn trail to collect and identify autumn leaves and seeds. The children found sycamore leaves and seeds (helicopters), horse chestnut leaves and confers, oak leaves but no acorns (the squirrels must have hidden them all), beech and maple leaves. Dear parents,
Apologies, I forgot to hand back the children's sentences copies today (Wednesday). The children can leave this part of their homework for tonight. Many thanks, A. Power Well done to all the children on winning the 'Star Class' award. The had the best líne in the yard all week! Congratulations to all!
