The children really enjoy using the website www.literactive.com for literacy games and stories. Below is a screen shot of the home page. The games are located under the section: 'Learning Activities' and the stories are under 'Guided Reading'. Parents can register for free. The children read the story, 'What the Ladybird Heard'. They made different animals from the story using paint, crayons and paper plates.
We have been learning about money in maths. The children worked in groups with one as a shopkeeper and the others as customers. They enjoy active learning. May is the month of Mary. The children made a May altar and prayed to Mary. Do you like their colouring? Ms. Carney has been teaching very interesting lessons about mini-beasts and their habitats. They read two great stories: "The Bad Tempered Ladybird" and "If Only". Ask your child if they can retell the story!
The children examined mini-beast models and sorted them based on their physical attributes. We planted nasturtiums in little pots of compost. The team leaders watered them every day. Well done to all the children who continued to water them over the Easter holidays. Look how big they have grown. We will transfer them to our garden box when it is sunny outside!
