this week we were learning all about our 5 senses. On Thursday we conducted some experiments. We discussed making it a fair test.
On Friday we all wore our jerseys to school. We sang Molly Malone and some children are even lucky enough to have match tickets for Sunday
today we had GAa with Nikki. We practice d running wuth the ball, hand passung and catching. Our homework for next week is to remember the score of the All Ireland.
Homework will follow a very predictable format for the first term at least.
4 spellings and a spelling exercise from SpellBound Sentences in copybooks based on spellings (starting Monday September 23rd) 10 maths questions from New Wave Mental Maths Sight words or reading Tables Homework should be supervised and checked but I would like you to encourage your child to work as independently as possible. If they ask for help talk them through it rather than giving them the answer. Reading for pleasure is so important - it would be great to encourage your child to borrow books from the library. They will start to bring home books from the school library shortly We are now in second class and are all settled into Room 2A. Some of us were in room 2A in Junior infants so it's a little strange to be back!
We have been working hard over the last 2 weeks - getting to know our new teacher, learning our class rules and getting stuck into 2nd class work. Our class rules are 1. Raise your hand for permission to speak 2. Follow Instructions Quickly 3. Kind hands, kind feet, kind words 4. Make Smart Choices Here is a little preview of what we will be learning in September.
