Since we came back after Easter we have been doing lots of Maths. We are learning all about 2D shapes, identifying shapes, classifying shapes, making shape pictures. We also practiced making 3 step patterns. We had lots of fun identifying sets that have "less".
In the computer room we visited the topmarks website and played lots of Maths games

As we now know all of our letters we will be working on learning the real letter names. All the children dressed up as their favouite book characters and the whole school had DEAR time (Drop Everything And Read). Mrs Whelan had prepared a special presentation on Fairytales for us in the hall and we all sang and danced to the song "There was a Princess Long Ago"
We had a great time when Ms Giblin came to our classroom - she taught us lots of lovely things. On the day before the Ester Holidays we made Easter nests using melted chocolate and shredded wheat. We learned all about what happens when things melt and saw what happened when you add water to melted chocolate.
We also started Literacy Stations in March - these are - Word Families, Sight Words, Word Building, Letter Formation and Story Writing |
