We have been working on making patterns using 3 step sequencing. We had lots of practice using maths manipulatives and on Thursday we used MS Paint to create shapes and 3 step patterns
Last week's story was the Gingerbread Man. We read the story, retold it in pairs, made a storyboard and put cut and stick gingerbread men in our scrapbooks. On Friday we went to the staffroom to bake some gingerbread men. It was lots of fun measuring out the ingredients, mixing, stirring and rolling. The best part was eating them - they were delicious! Some of the children were hoping the gingerbread men wouldn't run away before we ate them!
We have been working hard on sounding out and spelling cvc words. We read the story "Zac the Rat" which you can read here. Then we made lots of words from the story and wrote them on our whiteboards.
Happy New Year to all our families and friends. We hope everybody had an enjoyable break. The children in Room 6 did great work this week and I think everyone was happy to be back at school and see all their friends again. Here is a quick synopsis of our work for the 2 weeks
