![]() This week we read the story 'Handa's Surprise'. We really enjoyed it as it tells the story of Handa who is on a journey to give seven delicious fruits to her friend. Ask your child if they can name all the fruits!! It is very tricky!! We then painted one of our favourite fruits from the story. Can you see your fruit on our display board? We also created our very own 'Handa's Surprise' book. Yes- the boys and girls in Room 2 have become authors and illustrators!! We also had a colouring competition to see whose picture would be the cover of our book. Well done to Rachel on winning first prize. Her colouring was fantastic!! ![]() We have been working hard this week learning the number story for number 3. We learned all the ways that we can make the number 3. We are getting very good at it. We read the story 'The Three Little Pigs' and sequenced pictures from it. There were five pictures to sequence and we thought that it would be very difficult, but it was no problem for us. We also began work on making our own little pigs in art. We loved the story of 'The Three Little Pigs'. Take a look at our work O ![]() In Art this week we were looking and responding to the work of Wassily Kandinsky. He came from Russia and we noticed that circles are common in many of his paintings. We liked his work so much we created our own Kandinsky inspired paintings. Take a look. Ms. Mc Intyre thinks we are very talented artists in Room 2! ![]() This is a picture of our new friend Lucy Ladybird. She helps us with our maths. We are now getting very good at our counting games, we are adding. We always remember to check our numberlines when writing numbers. When we get stuck when doing our adding- Lucy Ladybird helps us remember. We put the first number on her left side, the second number on her right side and put them altogether to get our answer. Yes- we are getting very good at counting. |
