We are learning about time

29/1/2013

The boys and girls in Room 2 have been very busy learning all about time. Each day we sing our days of the week song and our months of the year song. We can even read the time. We know that the big hand is for the minutes and the small hand is for the hours. Check out the clocks that we made!!

3-D shapes are everywhere!

We now know all about 3-D shapes. We can tell you all about cubes, cuboids, spheres and cylinders. We love to play 'I spy' and name all the 3-D shapes in our classroom. Well done to any of the boys and girls who brought in shapes!

We are weather experts!

The month of January has been very very cold. We got very excited when we heard that it might snow- but the boys and girls in Room 2 are still waiting. We have been busy learning all about different weather types- we made our weather dials, we recorded our weather charts for a full week. Ms. Mc Intyre picks a great boy or girl each day to change the weather chart for her. We also made our umberellas and rhyming rainbows aswell. We also know how to describe the weather in Gaeilge. Just ask your child 'Conas atá an aimsir?' and they will have no problem in telling you.

The Three Billygoats Gruff

This week we read the story of 'The Three Billygoats Gruff'. We did not like the mean and nasty troll in the story. We loved this story and Ms. Mc Intyre said that we are very good at telling it. We can even sequence the story. It is no problem for us!
