We have been learning all about Autumn in our lessons this month. When we had learned a lot of facts and information Ms. McSweeney gave us a word bank and encouraged us to write as many facts as we could about Autumn and about Squirrels. Our teachers were amazed at how hard we worked. He are some examples of our hard work. Ms. O'Neill and Mr. Farrell do English stations with us once a week. We rotate tables and try a variety of activities with the help of the two teachers. It is great fun! When we have been working really hard we like to get moving with "Go Noodle". It is good for our bodies and our brains!
You can try Go Noodle at home, signing up is free. If you click on the picture above it will bring you to the website. http://blog.gonoodle.com/2016/08/the-brain-boosting-benefits-of-movement/ We have been working on "ai" "ay" and "a with magic e" in phonics this month. Click the link below to look at the slides we've been using in class and to try to read some stories.
ai, ay and a-e Conkers grow on the Horse Chestnut tree in Autumn. The conkers are protected by a spikey husk to stop animals eating them. Teacher brought in one for each of us and we had great fun smashing the husk to get the conkers inside.
