On Monday 6th of October at 7:30 pm we will have a meeting for parents about numeracy in the infant classes. During the meeting we will talk to you about different strategies we use to teach numeracy in a fun, active and meaningful way in the classroom. We will also talk to you about different ways to help develop your child's numeracy skills at home. We will send home a note to parents with more detail about the meeting. Looking forward to seeing you there!

We are doing lots of different things in our maths lessons. We are learning how to sort by different attributes e.g. colour or size, how to match and how to count. To make this as active and as fun as possible we do different types of activities and games. We play lots of different counting games which we really enjoy! We are very lucky to have Ms. Hourican visit us so we can work in smaller groups to do these activities. Here are some pictures of some of the activities we did this week to practise sorting, matching and counting.
We are settling into our new class. In the morning we do some fine motor skills activities. These activities help us to improve our hand eye co-ordination and strengthen our hands. This helps us when we do jobs such as writing, drawing or cutting. Here are some pictures of us working in our groups to do our morning activities.
Welcome to Junior Infants! On this blog you will be able to see pictures of different activities and events happening in our class throughout the year. We hope you enjoy it!
