We are in the last week of our Cafe theme for integrated learning. The children have really enjoyed this theme... In PE this week we worked on our ball skills using tennis rackets and tennis balls. We worked on our own and in pairs. Look how well we did... As we are busy getting a song ready for seachtain na gaeilge we started to think back to our lovely Christmas concert. Here is a video of us rehearsing. We are learning about saint sans a composer who wrote a piece of music called the carnival of the animals. Look at us moving to the fish music.... Our theme for February is: Food! Our role play area is a cafe, our sand pit is filled with play food, our small world activity is based on Eric Carle's book The Very Hungry Caterpillar. Have a peek... This week we listened to the music of the rattley bones and the elephant. We tried to waltz like an elephant! In January our integrated learning theme was winter. We learned about the globe and found the North Pole and South Pole. We read the story of Tom Crean's Rabbit. Our role play area was a vet surgery and our small world area was Tom Crean's campsite. We had great fun! |
