We have been learning lots and lots about Autumn.

The children in Room 20 have looked at lots of different trees, leaves and fruit. We celebrated National Tree Day on the 9th October, here is a link to the website...
www.treeday.ie
We have also looked at animals that migrate (the swallow) and ones that hibernate (the hedgehog).
We identified lots of signs of Autumn. Can you name 6 signs of Autumn in the comment section below???
Hint: think of leaves, animals, weather and festivals

Welcome to Room 20's blog. We hope to post up class news, photos, quizzes and activities throughout the year.

Parents please remember to sign your child's homework journal every night after you have checked it has been fully completed.
Homework should take between 20-30 mins at a comfortable desk away from distractions.
Please sign the test notebook every Friday and return it on Monday.

Many Thanks,
Mr. Farrell

Active week

29/4/2013

This week is Active Week.......we will be having bizzy break, extra PE, learning about healthy eating and there is a walking bus to school everyday.

Did you know that:
  • children need at least 60 minutes of being active everyday.
  • all adults need at least 30 minutes of moderate activity 5 days a week.
  • being active gives you more energy, helps you relax and it's fun too.
  • children who are active reduce their risk of ill health as an adult.

*We are performing in a Hip-hopathon on Friday. Don't forget to sponsor us please!!!

  • We have been learning about Neil Armstrong.
  • On the 20th of July 1969 he became the first man to walk on the moon.
  • A Saturn 5 rocket blasted him into space in a space ship called Apollo 11.
  • He was joined by two other astronauts called Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins.

"Thats one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind"
