Our reader this month has been called A Day In The Life. It is about Charlie Maxwell. A TV film crew follow him all day to make a documentary about an 8 year old.
Here are some HOT(higher order thinking) questions about the story...........can you answer them???
Other fun activities..... Role Play: Could you act out the story pretending to be Charlie Maxwell or the Chief of TV 5? We are celebrating maths weeks. The theme is counting. Room 20 went on a car park Maths Trail and a classroom based Maths Trail. It was great fun working together. Here are a few photos......do you like them??
In art we drew self-portraits. We were learning about the human body. We looked at the skeleton and identified the skull, spine, ribs, kneecap, thigh bone and elbow. We also looked at all the major organs in our body. In Art we made a skeleton using q-tips!! Do you like them? They look spooky in our classroom, great for Halloween. Quiz Time: Can you name 5 organs in our body???
We have been learning lots and lots about Autumn. The children in Room 20 have looked at lots of different trees, leaves and fruit. We celebrated National Tree Day on the 9th October, here is a link to the website... We have also looked at animals that migrate (the swallow) and ones that hibernate (the hedgehog). We identified lots of signs of Autumn. Can you name 6 signs of Autumn in the comment section below???
Hint: think of leaves, animals, weather and festivals |
