Parents can learn more about how to rename here: We finished each lesson with a renaming challenge! Mr. Brady pulled out a name from the lollipop sticks and gave them a huge sum to work out using renaming!

Our Maths Challenge this week was all about rugby!
In the game a rugby a try is worth 5 points and a penalty kick is worth 3 points. If Ireland scored 37 points in a match how many tries and penalties would that be? Bonus Question: In Maths this week we are learning about fractions and today we looked at quarters.
We discussed what a good quarter was and then tried to make some using different materials! For todays challenge you must write the numbers 1-8 in these boxes so that no number touches off the number that comes after it!
This means that 1 can't be touching 2 and 2 can't be touching 3. You must use all 8 numbers and you must fill every box! Good luck! Scroll down for a clue In Maths this week we were looking at symmetry!
Mr. Brady showed us a reindeer made out of matchsticks. In this challenge you must remove one matchstick to leave a symmetrical shape! You can only take one matchstick away and you can't move any of the others Our maths challenge last Friday was all about maps. There is an old idea in maths called the four colour theory that says that any map can be coloured in using only four colours without having any of the same colours touching. We tested this by colouring in a map of Ireland using only four colours. It took a few attempts but eventually we all worked it out!
Well done to Shioze who was the first to get it! Here is last weeks Maths Challenge!
Sorry for being late. Bonus Question: What would be the most expensive Today's Maths Challenge was extra, extra tough!
one =3 two =3 three =5 four =4 five =4 six =3 seven =5 eight =5 nine =? What does nine equal? Well done to Danny who cracked another one! |
