This week we have been learning the story of how Cuchulainn got his name!
We drew our favourite scene from the story.

Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay are famous all over the world for being the first people to climb Mount Everest in 1953. Mallory was one of the first people to ever attempt to climb Everest. It was a very brave thing to do because no one had ever climbed that high before. Now when people climb Everest there are ropes for safety and people know which is the safest way to go up and down but Mallory did not know any of this. Mallory was last seen with his climbing partner Sandy Irvine only 250 metres from the top! The people who found him were able to tell who he was by looking at the labels on his clothes. They said a prayer and made a pile of stones to mark the place where he was. They brought some of his things home to his family. The BBC made a documentary about Mallory called "The Wildest Dream". In history and computers this week we are designing phones for senior citizens.
We did it on this website: We made our own simple telephone using plastic cups and string. If you are making your own one at home remember it won't work well unless the string in pulled tight!
This week we are learning about the life of Anne Frank. We got a lot of information, pictures and videos from the Google Cultural Exhibit on Anne's life. You can find it here: You can tour the tiny annex where Anne lived with 7 other people for almost two years here:
