We have invited suggestions from the first and second class children for an inspiring and motivating Active Schools Motto for our school.
We can't wait to hear what they some up with! We has an active School Assembly in the hall. It was a great opportunity to learn about the ways we can be active in school. Ms. Hargadon is a wonderful dance teacher and she taught us three new dances for our Drop Everything And Dance sessions, which we have every Friday. It was so much fun! We have lots of children who are active outside of school too. Nikki, from Fingallians demonstrated with some our children the hurling and football skills they have been working on. Children also demonstrated their Irish dancing, Taekwondo, gymnastics and hip hop skills.
Seachtain na Gaeilge was a great success. All of the children were active and took part in learning traditional dances such as "The Walls of Limerick" and "Shoe the Donkey". The whole school also took part in a Ceilí.
We all had great fun! What a workout! At the active assembly the teachers Active Committee demonstrated the exercises for our new Active Homework. This was great fun and the whole school agreed to try it out for the month of March. All the children were very enthusiastic and many of the parents have been joining in on the active homework also!
