Active Assembly

8/5/2015

At our Active Assembly we celebrated all the children on our "Well Done Wall". The children who won the Motto Competition and Mini Leagues were presented with trophies from the principal. The Active Committee received new badges in recognition of their hard work.

We finished our assembly, as always, by getting Active!

We all moved to two dances called the "Cha Cha Slide" and the "Sid Shuffle".

Active Week

27/4/2015

Our Active week ran from the 20th - 24th of April. We had a full active week programme in place. It was a great success!

Every morning there was a "Walking Bus" to school from Swords Manor car park, Bizzy Break, Drop Everything and Dance, a Skip-a-thon and a Hip-hop-a-thon. All the classes had activities outdoors such as races, obstacle courses, skipping and parachute games. Thank you to all the Parents Active Schools Committee who were very helpful.

We were all exhausted everyday and then we had to go home and do our Active homework!!!

Active School Motto Results

23/4/2015

Our motto competition was a great success. 115 children in first and second class submitted a motto. Many children designed a logo also.

We had some great entries and it was really difficult to pick a winner.

Finally, we decided upon a motto from Ava Nolan in first class, room 12.

                                                             "Exercise is the Key,
Take part and move with me."

In second place was a motto from Cathal Kelly, also from first class, room 12.

                                                  "No moaning or groaning,
We're all active in St. Cronans"

Parents Committee

19/4/2015

We have formed a Parents Active Committee. The Parents Association have been working hard on this and it will be great to have the community involved especially in our Active Week, which will be starting April 20th.

Active School Motto

27/3/2015

We have invited suggestions  from the first and second class children for an inspiring and motivating Active Schools Motto for our school.

We can't wait to hear what they some up with!

Active School Assembly

23/3/2015

We has an active School Assembly in the hall. It was a great opportunity to learn about the ways we can be active in school.

Ms. Hargadon is a wonderful dance teacher and she taught us three new dances for our Drop Everything And Dance sessions, which we have every Friday. It was so much fun!

We have lots of children who are active outside of school too. Nikki, from Fingallians demonstrated with some our children the hurling and football skills they have been working on.
Children also demonstrated their Irish dancing, Taekwondo, gymnastics and hip hop skills.

Seachtain na Gaeilge

23/3/2015

Seachtain na Gaeilge was a great success. All of the children were active and took part in learning traditional dances such as "The Walls of Limerick" and "Shoe the Donkey". The whole school also took part in a Ceilí.

We all had great fun!

What a workout!

Active Homework

12/3/2015

At the active assembly the teachers Active Committee demonstrated the exercises for our new Active Homework. This was great fun and the whole school agreed to try it out for the month of March. All the children were very enthusiastic and many of the parents have been joining in on the active homework also!

Active Schools Noticeboard

20/2/2015

We have a new Active Schools Noticeboard in thee hall where children can keep an eye on the latest activities and find out about upcoming events.

There is also a special "Well Done Wall" to recognise  any sporting achievements of out children both inside and outside school.
