One snowy day Tadgh and Tara were excitedly looking out the front window at home.
‘Let’s go outside,’ said Tadgh. ‘It would be so much fun to build a snowman in the front garden.’ Tara agreed and her imagination got to work. ‘I’ll go and find an old hat and scarf to put on the snowman,’ she said. Off she went and quickly found what she was looking for. Tadgh and Tara then put on their own coats and were ready to go out into the front garden. They started to roll the snow into big balls and they soon had the snowman’s body built. Tara picked up three stones and put them in a straight line in the middle to make it look like the snowman was wearing a coat. Tadgh then picked up another big ball of snow that had a face drawn onto it and a carrot for his nose. He put this snow on top and Tara put on the scarf and hat to finish off all their busy work. ‘What shall we call him,’ asked Tara? ‘Let’s call him Whitey,’ said Tadgh. The two children laughed out loud, said goodbye to Whitey and ran back into the house, happy with what they had done.
