Congratulations to all the boys and girls in room 16. They worked so hard all year and deserve their summer holidays. I have loved every minute of being their teacher and wish each and every child health, happiness and success as they venture into first class.
Thank you to all the parents who have supported and worked with their children at home and those who came to our class events such as maths blast, grandparents' day and our school tour. Enjoy the summer! Ms. A. Power We had lots of fun on our school tour to Ardgillan Castle. We were enjoying a nature walk through the woods when we spotted BIG FOOT! I think Big Foot was more scared of the children than they were of him. We had an interesting tour of the castle and the playground was a big hit too. Thank you so much to our Mammy leaders for helping out on the day - Louise, Nadine, Patricia and Bernie. We celebrated the start of the World Cup by wearing the colours of our favourite team and with some mad hair styles. It was lots of fun. We are supporting; Brazil, Spain, Portugal, England, Algeria, USA, Germany and Australia! This week we were busy learning all about birds. The children can label the parts of a bird and wrote some interesting facts and stories about birds. They worked in groups researching different birds and then each group presented their findings to the class. The children in our school programming Scratch club were asking how to download the program at home. Please follow the instructions and screen shots below. 1. Type 'Dowload Scratch 2.0' into Google. 2. Select the first option as seen in the screen shot below. 'Scratch 2 offline editor MIT' 3. This will open the page below. Follow the instructions appropriate to you PC or Mac. 4. If you have any questions please let me know! The children are doing great programming in school. They have their own scratch folders with lesson notes so they can continue to develop their programming skills over the summer too. |
