Our school play will take place on Thursday 20th December. We have been working very hard to get ready. We are going to carry out a play on Santa's Workshop. We are excited to take on the parts of Santa, Mrs Claus, Santa's Head Elf, Rudolph, Santa's Reindeer and Santa's Helpers. I am putting up a link to the video SANTA and hope the boys and girls keep singing it so that they are ready for Thursday. Keep up the hard work!!
We in Room 2 have been busy learning all about 2-D shapes. We now know all about the shapes- triangle, square, rectangle and circle. If you ask us, we will be able to tell you how many sides and corners the shapes have. We love to play the game 'I spy' with shapes around our classroom. We even tried making our own shapes using small match sticks and play dough. We had great fun.. Take a look at some of our pictures.
The boys and girls in Room 2 have been learning all about 2-D shapes. One of our tasks was sorting shapes. Ms. Mc Intyre gave us many different types of bottle tops and we had to think of all the ways that we could sort them- by colour, size, ones with labels, lighter colours, darker colours, ones with smooth edges and ones with rough edges. Boys and girls were excellent at sorting and even thought up new ways to sort- ways that even Ms. Mc Intyre had not thought of. Well done boys and girls. Take a look at the boys and girls busy working on their sorting.
We have been learning about the story of the Nativity in Religion. We know that Christmas is coming and that Advent is celebrated in the run up to Christmas. Advent begins in December as we prepare for Christmas, when we will celebrate the birth of Baby Jesus. We have an Advent calender in our class and one lucky student gets to open a door each day.
Well Winter is here and we are noticing it getting colder and colder. We began learning about penguins this week. We loved hearing all the penguin facts. Take a look at our Winter Wonderland display. Our colouring is getting much better.
