The teachers had a workshop in "Sports Conditioning" with Eoin McGrath from Fingal Sports Initiative. Teachers learned lots of new skills which will enrich their PE lessons.
Parents were reminded to support our Healthy Eating Policy and since then we have noticed a big increase in the number of children with Healthy Lunches. The children themselves also seem to have a heightened awareness of healthy eating.
Thank you for your support!
Our Active Schools Committee painted "Healthy Eating Traffic Lights" for every class.
Green means the whole class have healthy lunches. Yellow means they're lunches are OK but need some improvement and red means the children are not bringing healthy lunches to school.
The Committee will check the lunches in their class each day and decide how the class is doing. The traffic lights will be displayed on the classroom doors for all to see. No doubt we'll have lots of green lights soon.
Our Active Committees discussed that in order to have enough energy to be a really active school, we need to make healthy choices in relation to the food we eat.
We aim to increase the amount of physical activity the children are engaged in. Our Active Schools Committee are thinking up new ways to keep our school active!
